What is findfunding?
findfunding is an AI-powered B2B platform from Munich that brings business projects together with suitable public funding programmes at EU, federal and state level.
Unlike a funding database, findfunding does not just return a list of hits but a basis for decisions: every programme is checked for eligibility, assessed by AI and ranked by fit, each with a clear rationale. Days of manual research become a transparent process that can be repeated quickly at any time.
Who founded findfunding?
findfunding was founded in Munich in 2026 by five co-founders: Niklas Heinzel (frontend engineering, product & investor relations), Noah Frank (backend engineering, product, sales & marketing), Jelena Lehmann (marketing & sales, investor relations), Jakob Kulinna (finance & operations, funding & legal) and Philipp Wödl (business development, funding & legal).
findfunding is part of batch #16 of SCE Incubation, the incubation programme of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) at Munich University of Applied Sciences.
Who is findfunding for?
findfunding is built for everyone who assesses and supports funding projects professionally.
Funding and management consultancies use it to replace manual research across portals, PDFs and guidelines. Instead of starting from scratch with every mandate, they quickly get a transparent, client-ready basis for decisions and can handle more mandates at the same level of quality.
Large companies with their own grant office or in-house consulting use findfunding to spot the funding opportunities with the greatest potential for their projects early on, across EU, federal and state programmes.
Which funding programmes are covered?
findfunding covers more than 3,500 public funding programmes at EU, federal and state level: EU programmes such as Horizon Europe, the EIC Accelerator, the EU Innovation Fund, LIFE and Interreg, federal programmes such as ZIM, EXIST and KMU-innovativ, and the German states' ERDF funding.
It covers different types of funding, from grants to loans and guarantees. Key facts are stored for every programme, such as funding rate, deadlines, eligible applicants and consortium requirements. Matching rules let you narrow the selection down whenever you need to.
How does the matching work?
You describe your company and your project: company data, project content, intended use of funds, budget and maturity. findfunding first checks formal eligibility and then uses AI to assess every relevant programme for thematic, strategic and financial fit.
You decide how much each of these three criteria counts, because the scoring weights can be adjusted individually. Matching rules also let you exclude or prioritise programmes, via quick filters or as a rule written in your own words.
The result is every suitable programme with an AI score and a clear rationale for each criterion. An executive summary brings the results together.
We are happy to show you more about the matching in a demo.
Does findfunding replace funding advisors?
No. findfunding is a tool for funding experts, not a replacement for them. The platform takes on the most time-consuming part of the work: research, eligibility checks and shortlisting. Expert judgement, funding strategy and the application itself stay with the advisor.
Because every result comes with a clear rationale, advisors can review the suggestions, put them into context and explain them to their clients with confidence. That leaves more time for what makes the difference: assessment, advice and a convincing application.
How up to date is the programme data?
The programme catalogue is updated weekly. Funding programmes rarely change, and new calls are published well in advance, so this cycle is fully sufficient for reliable research.
If you need the very latest data in between, for example before an important client decision, we can update it on request at any time outside the regular cycle.
What does findfunding cost, and can I try it?
findfunding is currently in its pilot phase, so we agree terms individually, depending on team size and scope of use.
You can try findfunding as a pilot partner: we are looking for consultancies, funding experts and grant offices who want to test the matching on their own projects and help shape its development. Via “Request a demo” we will show you the platform and discuss what working together could look like.
How is my project data protected?
Your project data is processed solely to research and assess suitable funding programmes and is only accessible to registered users in your organisation. For AI analysis, the relevant project details are sent to the AI service SAIA run by GWDG (Academic Cloud); the application itself is hosted on Railway in the EU West region. SAIA does not use your data to train AI models. You can find more details in our privacy policy.
